“We grow our vines on the clay-rich hills of Montefalco, selecting the right terroir for each variety, so as to express their full potential. Our task is to indulge them, harvest their fruits when ripened to perfection, preserve their aromas so that they can be appreciated in the glass, unaltered.”
Benedetti & Grigi Winery was established in the region of Umbria, also known as the “green heart” of Italy, on the hills of Montefalco. It was created from the passion for its wine and terroir by founders Umberto Benedetti and Daniele Grigi. An agricultural expert together with a young and dynamic entrepreneur, they embody the image of a new winery projected to the future, with roots in the past. To achieve their dream, Benedetti & Grigi have gathered under their guidance a team of some of the most popular and sought-after experts in the wine industry.
Over the years, the company has specialized in the cultivation of grapes in Umbria through extremely selective techniques, which aim at achieving an excellent production quality. Utilizing the latest technology in the wine industry, brand new equipment allows them to softly process the grapes, enhancing their natural aromatic potential.
The estate is composed primarily of Umbria’s traditional Sagrantino vineyards, including Spoletino Trebbiano, Grechetto and Sangiovese. The project is constantly evolving and in the coming years the property will make major investments to boost the discovery of the oldest vines, thereby respecting and appreciating the territory.
